Standards
The Walnut Creek School District
Technology Standards for Teachers and Students were adopted by the Governing
Board on March 18, 2002. They are based on national technology standards
and customized by the District Technology Committee to meet the needs
of our community of learners.

Students demonstrate a sound
understanding of the nature and operation of technology systems.
K-2.1.1 Communicate about
technology using developmentally appropriate and accurate terminology.
Students are proficient in the use of technology:
K-2.1.2 Use input devices
(e.g., mouse, keyboard, remote control) and output devices (e.g., monitor,
printer) to successfully operate computer, VCRs, audiotapes, telephones
and other technologies.
K-2.1.3 Use developmentally
appropriate multimedia resources (e.g., interactive books, educational
software and elementary multimedia encyclopedias) to support learning.
K-2.1.4 Use a variety of
